APY Executive Board elections

Supplementary elections

Due to the resignation of three Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Executive Board Members, supplementary elections will be required for the following: 

  • male member for Amata and Tjurma;
  • female member for Mimili;
  • male member for Pukatja, Yunyarinyi, Anilalya and Turkey Bore electorates.

Nominations open

Nominations are now open for supplementary elections for the APY Lands Executive Board.

There are vacancies for:

  • a male member for Amata and Tjurma
  • a female member for Mimili
  • a male member for Pukatja, Yunyarinyi, Anilalya and Turkey Bore

How do you nominate?

To have your name on the electoral roll you should fill in and return an enrolment form before Friday 30 August 2019. 

Eligibility to nominate for the APY Executive Board elections:

  • Anangu
  • 18 years of age or over
  • reside within one of the electorates
  • have your name on the voters roll
  • be prepared to live in your community for at least 9 months of the year
  • have not been found guilty of a serious offence in the last 10 years
  • complete and lodge a 'Nomination Form' and 'National Police Check Application Form' before 4pm (CST) Wednesday 18 September 2019. These forms are available from the schools listed below.

Where do you nominate?

  • Amata Anangu School
  • Ernabella Anangu School
  • Mimili Anangu School

When you nominate you must have proof of identity - this might be your driver's license, or other cards that have your name. The electoral worker at the school can help you to complete the forms and take your photo.
