Due to the resignation of a member of the Council, and an existing Council vacancy, a supplementary election is necessary to fill two vacancies for Area Councillor for Kangaroo Island Council.

Nominating
Becoming a member of council is a great way to represent and help make a difference to your local community.
The nomination period for the two vacancies for Area Councillor for Kangaroo Island Council opens Thursday 14 January 2021 and will close at 12 noon on Thursday 28 January 2021.
If you are interested in nominating, kits will be available during the nomination period from the council office located at 43 Dauncey Street, Kingscote.

To submit your nomination form electronically, you need to print the relevant form, sign it, scan it and email it to ecsa.elections@sa.gov.au along with your profile statement (required) and photograph (optional) by no later than 12 noon, Thursday 28 January 2021.
Please note that if you choose to submit a photo you must write a statement on the back with the words ‘This is a photograph of <your name> taken within the past 12 months’, and also sign the back of the photo.

Nomination forms
IMPORTANT – before filling out one of the below nomination forms we strongly encourage you to call the council liaison officer on 08 8553 4500 for advice. Candidates often use the wrong form, or fill in the form incorrectly, which can result in a nomination not being accepted. Make sure you get advice before nominating and then submit your nomination well before the deadline of 12 noon, Thursday 28 January 2021. |
If you intend to nominate as an elector in your own right you must complete and lodge LG3:

Please note that late nominations cannot be accepted. It is strongly recommended that you lodge your nomination early to allow time to rectify any potential problems.
Briefing session
A briefing session for intending candidates will be held on Tuesday 19 January 2021 at 5:30pm at Kangaroo Island Council, 43 Dauncey Street, Kingscote.
