City of Adelaide - Area Councillor

Due to the resignation of a member of the Council, a supplementary election is necessary to fill the vacancy of Area Councillor for the City of Adelaide.

  • The scrutiny and count previously scheduled for Wednesday 28 July 2021 has been rescheduled to commence at 9:30am on Thursday 5 August 2021 at The Auditorium, Adelaide Town Hall, 128 King William Street, Adelaide.

The voters roll for this supplementary election closed at 5pm on Friday 30 April 2021.

At the close of nominations at 12 noon on Thursday 10 June 2021, a total of 7 nominations were accepted for the supplementary election. The draw for ballot paper order was conducted at 4pm at Adelaide Town Hall. The candidates' names in the order they will appear on the ballot paper are:

Scrutiny and count

Due to the current COVID situation, we are limiting the number of scrutineers in the count room to one per candidate at a time.

Scrutineers

To appoint a scrutineer, a candidate must complete the approved form, and hand it to the Deputy Returning Officer or Electoral Officer in charge of the proceedings at the scrutiny and count.

Note that:

  • a candidate may appoint one or more scrutineers, however due to current COVID-19 restrictions only one scrutineer at a time may be in the count room
  • a candidate in an election for the council (including a candidate who has already been declared elected) is not eligible for appointment as a scrutineer.
